First off, as soon as you register and we settle on a date, I’m going to send you my “Getting Started” questionnaire.
You can answer this in writing by filling out the form or you can respond via audio messages to me if you prefer —whatever feels easier and more fun to YOU!
This is a chance for you to reflect on where you are right now, what your current challenges are, what your results have been with video previously, and what you’re hoping to get out of our day together. This will help me make sure we focus on the areas you most need help with during our time together and it will also serve as a great baseline by which to judge our progress at the end of the day.
(If you’re like my other clients, you’ll be amazed at how the thing that felt so hard to deal with before our session feels like NO BIG DEAL by the end of the day…)
You’ll also get instant access to the Be Yourself in Video online course, where you can, optionally, get a headstart on things by going through the course in preparation for our big day.
This is absolutely optional. If you‘re someone who loves watching videos or listening to audios and wants to know as much as possible before we start, you’ll definitely want to devour the program.
But if you’re someone who dreads watching a bunch of videos or simply doesn’t have time to listen to the audios, it’s no problem. I can review the concepts during our time together and explain key concepts to you personally.
Either way, I’ll make sure to review your responses to our Getting Started questions, watch any past videos (or video attempts) that you send me and send you our Zoom link in advance so we can hit the ground running on your big day.
It’s ideal if you have a device we can zoom through, such as a laptop or ipad, in addition to a separate device you can record from, such as a phone or ipad. This way, you can record into the device and I can silently be live on zoom to coach you immediately afterwards.
What Happens During Your Intensive...
The exact schedule of our day will depend on your time zone and scheduling
preferences, but the format will be similar. We'll schedule 4 90-minute work
sessions for the day for a mix of time together, time apart, teaching, coaching,
recording as well as planning your recording set up, discovering your personal
video style and brainstorming future topic ideas.
Session 1: Mindset Magic
When we get started, we'll go over my feedback and responses from your Getting Started questionnaire to make sure we're on the same page about our goals for the day. I can also answer any questions you might have. After that, we'll dive into our Mindset Magic session to work through the biggest mental blocks you have to doing video. (It’s totally fine if you don’t know what they are right now. I will help you identify them.)
Session 2: Prepping to Record
We’ll discuss different locations for recording at your home/office to find the one we think works best. We’ll also evaluate your lighting/audio setup. (If you have equipment, that’s awesome, we’ll use it, but if not, that’s totally fine. We’ll work with what you have.) We’ll start our initial analysis of your personal video style and go through my pre-recording warm up exercises. We'll also talk through your video ideas and decide which ones to focus on first.
After all that, we'll break for lunch.
Session 3: Bustin' Out the Videos
After lunch, we’ll do our first few takes on your videos. (I promise that by this point in our session together, it won't feel nearly as scary as it does to you right now.)
You'll do some recording and I’ll give you live feedback/coaching to help you work out the kinks until we break for lunch.
Session 4: Wrapping Up
Once we get your videos done, we will focus on uploading at least one of them to make sure you're comfortable with the process going forward.
We’ll also finalize your personal video style. (This can and should evolve with you over time, but these are capturing a reflection of how you want to approach videos going forward for now.)
